The Salvation Experience
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(John 3:16)
The Salvation Experience: Answering Crucial Faith Questions
The Salvation Experience is designed for those who are seeking truth concerning the doctrine of salvation. The material in this book offers an overview of the fall of mankind through salvation in Jesus Christ.
The questions are designed to answer basic questions for all who are interested in salvation and how to lead others to Christ. I pray this material will encourage your faith. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8;9)
The Original Command: God’s Instructions to Adam and Eve
The fall of man occurred after Adam and Eve accepted Satan’s lie and rebelled against God’s command through disobedience, mankind then took on Satan’s nature and was placed under his dominion. This is the original command God gave Adam and Eve, “And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die.” ( Gen. 2:15)
How Satan Exploited Man’s Disobedience
God commanded that man could freely eat of any tree within the Garden of Eden except for one tree. The tree of knowledge of good and evil. God proclaimed that if he disobeyed, man would surely die.
Man’s disobedience created an opportunity for Satan, in the form of the serpent, to bring death to God’s eternal human creation. Satan realized that he could dismantle communication between God and His children through this strategy.
The serpent lied and deceived Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. Eve then gave it to her husband to eat. They both disobeyed God’s command by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When they did this, they exchanged life for death!
They sold the life given to them by God for the nature of the devil. The fall of man was complete. Man was cut off from God’s fellowship. He was placed under the devil’s dominion, and his nature was transformed. Through Adam and Eve’s disobedience of God’s original command, mankind became the devil’s children! (See Genesis 3)
